Third Eye Blind And Pat Monahan of Train
Rock it Out in Vegas

Official Press Release

Andover, MA Last week in Las Vegas, HHBrown celebrated 125 years with a bang! HHBrown is known in the footwear industry for hosting some of the biggest and most exciting parties during the WSA Shoe Show….but this time the party was a little bigger and a little more exciting if I say so myself.

Pat Monahan of Train opened up the night with his band and wow’d the crowd from the first song to the very last. Everyone was on their feet dancing and singing along to all the songs that we know and love from Train. Pat proved to be charismatic, fun and of course - ultra talented. Sometimes you never know what to expect from a live performance but Pat was absolutely awesome!

Third Eye Blind followed playing an assortment of our 90’s favorites and some new stuff from their upcoming album. I forgot how many of Third Eye Blinds songs I know and love. It was a blast from the past and was so much fun. The end of the party came too fast.

Thanks to Third Eye Blind and Pat Monahan for what I would call the best HHBrown celebration to date! Can’t wait for the next one…

Tim Gunn Season Premiere Featuring Söfft Shoes!

Söfft Shoe Company Donates Shoes to Teachers of the
not-for-profit program Dancing Classrooms

Official Press Release

Andover, MA – April 24, 2008 – Söfft Shoe Company, makers of women’s footwear brands Söfft and Softspots, today announced they are donating shoes to the teachers of Dancing Classrooms, a project of the American Ballroom Theater Company, a not-for-profit organization based in New York City.

Dancing Classrooms was created by American Ballroom Theater Company founder, Pierre Dulane. Dulane introduced the program to New York City Public Schools when he noticed the arts programs at these schools were being eliminated, leaving young students without any form of creative education. Dulane developed the program with the mission to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children. When students learn to dance with a partner, they are also learning about respect, teamwork and care for others – benefiting the students both in the immediate and throughout adulthood.

Dancing Classrooms began in 1994 with one 5th grade class of 30 students. fourteen years later Dancing Classrooms now reaches over 200 schools in all 5 Burroughs on New York City, teaching almost 30,000 students in grades ranging from 4th – 12th. The program has also reached into other regions and continues to grow in areas including Omaha, NE, Dallas, TX, Fort Myers, FL, Canada and more.

This program has recently gained national recognition for their work through the 2005 documentary, Mad Hot Ballroom and more recently, the Hollywood production, “Take The Lead” starring Antonio Banderas.

Söfft is pleased to donate shoes to the hardworking, dedicated teachers of Dancing Classrooms. All of the New York City teachers will be receiving a pair of the Söfft brand style called the Calypso – a mid-heel style Mary Jane appropriate for dancing and casual wear. A generous discount is also being provided to teachers of the program Nationally.

“We are thrilled and honored to do something special for these teachers, who have already done so much for so many underprivileged children” says Söfft Shoe Representative Katie Kangas. “We have truly enjoyed working with the people of Dancing Classrooms and hope to find other ways to help this heartwarming project” Kangas said.

Glow & Behold Winter Ball Recap

Official Press Release

The Glow and Behold Winter Ball to benefit the Accelerated Cure Project for MS was a huge success and a lot of fun! Held at the Hampshire House in Boston, MA on February 1st, attendees showed up looking their very best despite a rainy night.

In typical Hello Stiletto Shoe Club style, women and men wore their sexiest and flashiest shoes to coordinate with their gowns and tuxes. Many happily joined in to walk down the red carpet and strut their stuff to win an assortment of prizes including a free pair of Söfft shoes or Rühne shoes.

The benefit was a huge hit and a lot of money was raised for the Accelerated Cure Project for MS. A big thanks from Söfft to the ladies of the Hello Stiletto Shoe Club for thinking of Söfft and letting us be a part of something so important…and fun! Peep Toe Pumps Are The Must Have Winter Trend!

Fashion Tips

gayle.jpgA poll was recently taken right here on GOING SÖFFT about favorite winter trends. 54% of you said peep toe pumps were your favorite, in second place with 27% of votes was patent leathers.

It seems that no one is wearing thigh high boots and very few of you are into the nude pump look or the ankle bootie craze. I’m willing to bet that by next winter, ankle booties will be much more accepted by us all….and keep an eye out for Söfft ankle booties. There will be a few in the Fall 2008 line that just might get you to change your tune.

As for the overwhelming current favorite, peep toe pumps. Check out the Gayle from Söfft.
